Dingle Tradfest to return
Organizers have indicated the previously cancelled Dingle Tradfest festival will now go ahead. The traditional Irish music festival – founded by musicians Aoife and Deirdre Granville – has taken place annually in the West Kerry town for the past five years.
Last May organizers released a statement indicating the festival in its current format would not go ahead this year. This was, the statement said, due to the absence of Arts Council funding. Today organizers have indicated Dingle Tradfest will go ahead this year on September 9th and 10th.
It was also announced that six-time world champion Irish dancer David Geaney will curate a number of events during the Dingle Tradfest weekend with more acts to be announced in coming days.
