🏞️ What You’ll Experience Along the Way
Leaving Harriet’s Cottage (located near the heart of Dingle town), you’ll start by heading west out of town on Spa Road. Within minutes, the bustle of Dingle fades, replaced by open countryside — green pastures, grazing sheep, and views stretching toward Dingle Bay. As you continue along the gently winding road, the Harbour comes into view behind you — it’s worth pulling over at one of the wider spots to take in the panorama of Dingle Harbour, Mount Brandon, and the colorful rooftops of town. Soon you’ll reach the turnoff for Eask Tower, a small sign pointing uphill. The last stretch is a narrow, steep lane, typical of rural Kerry — best driven slowly and carefully. You’ll likely pass a few curious sheep or cows along stone walls as you climb higher.
🚶♂️ The Final Stretch
The road ends at a small private farm gate, where you’ll pay a small cash fee (usually €2–€3) to park and walk up the grassy path to the tower. The walk is about 25–3
0 minutes uphill, but it’s absolutely worth it.
🌅 At the Top
At Eask Tower, you’re rewarded with 360° views over Dingle Bay, the Blasket Islands, and the Ring of Kerry across the water. The stone tower itself was built in the 1840s as a navigational aid, guiding ships safely into Dingle Harbour.
